  Daily Tuscan Wine Class

With the help of our sommelier, you will get a clear idea of the Tuscan wine making history, its appellations and traditions. You will also learn about wine making techniques, about the climate and terroir of the different areas. Finally you will get to know the most important grapes to the area, and how they can express themselves differently in each territory. And last, but not least, you will taste a Super Tuscan and understand what a Super Tuscan is.

We will pop open some wonderful Tuscan wines, illustrating the native grape varietals, and especially examples of Sangiovese in different denominations and of different vintages. As for example how Chiantis will differ from Chianti Classico and how the latter will differ from a DOC or DOCG wine from Montepulciano and then again to compare with the typical wines from Montalcino such as the Brunello. We'll make sure to open wines at all levels, so every tasting we put in at least one very important wine as for example a Brunello di Montalcino or a famous Super Tuscan.

(Together with the tasting, we'll usually give you some bread and olive oil, a slice of Italian cheese and why not some chocolate and taste of the aged balsamic vinegar?! We're not skimpy with the pours, but please be aware that we'll pair wines with some food samples when possible, however, it's not a meal, simply examples of how food and wines pair well together...)
